The Friction of Infinite Scrolling
In many digital menus, categories are stacked vertically, forcing guests to scroll through "Starters" and "Drinks" just to find "Desserts." This infinite scroll model is perfect for social media engagement, but it is fatal for hospitality conversion. TableGreet utilizes a high-performance, horizontal tabbed navigation system that allows guests to jump between categories instantly.
Our navigation is powered by a memoized virtualization engine. This ensures that even if you have 25 categories, the browser only renders what is visible, maintaining a locked 60FPS even on five-year-old smartphones. This is the difference between a "website" and a "professional hospitality tool."
One-Handed Operational UX
We designed the category bar specifically for mobile-first usage. It remains sticky at the top of the viewport, with touch targets sized for one-handed operation. This allows guests to browse the menu while holding a drink or engaging in conversation, reducing the cognitive load of ordering.
Tabbed navigation systems reduce the time-to-first-item-in-cart by an average of 18 seconds compared to vertical scroll lists.
- Instant Category Switching: Zero-scroll jumps between menu sections.
- Sticky Navigation: Categories always accessible at the top of the screen.
- Visual Active States: High-contrast indicators to show exactly where the guest is.
- Smooth Auto-Scroll: The category bar automatically centers the active tab during manual scrolling.
